TWS Annual

Conference

The Annual Conference is the highlight of the Wilberforce Society calendar and is renowned as a focal point for political discussion in Cambridge. The Conference aims to contribute to contemporary domestic and global political debate by the generation and discussion of stimulating and creative ideas.

We structure this conference around policy research projects undertaken by the brightest Cambridge students in line with the year’s conference theme. The policy proposals crafted provide the basis for discussion on the day of the conference, allowing focused engagement on the topics at hand between the specialist guest speakers, our researchers and our audience.

Over 300 participants, comprising students, academics, journalists, government officials, and members of the wider public from Cambridge and beyond have attended the Wilberforce conference in previous years.  Previous conferences have also attracted attention at the national level. Media outlets and think-tanks that have covered the TWS conference include:

The Independent
